First place, logos
Wilder Fields
In early 2020, the Chicago-based vertical farming startup Backyard Fresh Farms came to us to carve out a more ownable, competitive space in the consumer packaged goods industry for its category-changing offering.
One new name, positioning strategy, messaging plan, identity program, and packaging system later, the brand re-emerged as Wilder Fields, a technology-enabled food company that produces extraordinarily flavorful, fresh, safe and sustainably grown greens for local communities.
Second place, logos
Office Ours
In collaboration with AIGA Chicago, we announced the launch of Office Ours, a series of virtual studio tours focused on the nuts and bolts of running a creative practice.
The program featured an evolving roster of studios, presenting our global design community with an opportunity to dig below the surface and see how businesses operate, evolve, and thrive.

AIGA Chicago Mentorship Program
The AIGA Chicago Mentorship Program—one of the chapter's most successful and inclusive platforms—gives creatives from across disciplines a place to gather and share insights, experiences and resources.
We were proud to support the program with a bold, flexible, custom typographic identity for the 2020 season—taking conceptual cues from the rich diversity of mentorship program participants.
Third place, handlettering and type design
Confluence Chicago
Collaborating with Chicago’s famed Merchandise Mart and BIFMA, we developed a positioning strategy and brand system for Confluence Chicago™, a new programming track for NeoCon 2020 (now slated for Spring 2021) focused on bringing together creative practitioners from across multiple modes of design.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
In 1980, PRINT Magazine launched PRINT’s Regional Design Awards competition with a simple goal: to show that outstanding design wasn’t just limited to New York City, and could be found throughout every single region of the United States. Forty years later they updated and relaunched their annual awards program to showcase the reality that outstanding design isn’t limited to the United States—it can be found in every corner of the globe.
The Handlettering, Illustration, Invitations, Logos & Adobe Jury was comprised of Laci Jordan, Jessica Hische, and Rick Griffith. The group used a points-based system to score entries based on originality, innovation, permanence, and execution.
