Melinda is a brand strategist and writer with the keen ability to translate even the most intricate, technically difficult, or complex concepts into creative messaging for a variety of audiences. By carefully sifting through information, she’s able to assemble the right puzzle pieces—providing clarity and crafting an honest narrative. Ultimately, she believes good stories make good brands, especially when told to the right audience, at the right time, in exactly the right words.

Hannah is a systems-focused designer with a creative background in web, branding, print, typography, and photography. She strives to design beautiful and intuitive experiences that compassionately address the end-user’s needs. Her iterative and fearless approach allows her to solve complex problems with simple yet powerful visuals. When not working, Hannah can be found snacking on cheese and watching trees, (rhyme totally intended).

As a brand identity designer, Stacey seeks to understand the essence of an organization to bring its brand to life in the simplest form. Stacey grabs perspectives from the client—but centers the end-user—crafting experiences that feel aligned, personal, and truly reflective of the overall mission. By combining bold designs with tactical design systems, her goal is to build resonance within a brand by instilling empathy, compassion, and truth at every touchpoint.

Nora is a strategic associate creative director who’s a powerhouse in conceptualizing and ideating. Her extensive experience within a variety of verticals allows for her to construct unique and specific ideas that bring brands’ narratives to life however, it’s her optimism and compassionate candor that enables her to build trust with clients to deliver honest, purpose-driven work.

Pat has led organic growth at One Design since 2007. These days his focus is on finance and strategic partnerships. Pat also co-founded and operated The [Coop] Chicago's first Coworking space prior to it's acquisition in 2013 along with the coworking network Desktime (now Deskpass ).

Abigail is an intuitive front-end developer that creates aesthetically pleasing and dynamically functional work. Her passion for building accessible experiences infuses immense intention and care into all of her projects. She focuses on effective communication to nurture entire ecosystems—all to keep innovative and mission-driven ideas flowing. As a mentor and advocate, she consciously strives to identify spaces to tap into, using her resources to uplift and amplify people to promote diversity within the tech and design industry.

James has deep experience managing accounts large and small. From 35-seat independent restaurants to some of the largest real estate firms in the world, he’s built and fostered long-term relationships with his clients by keeping open, empathetic channels of communication while thinking strategically about their present and future needs. He excels at finding and drawing out the strengths of cross-disciplinary teams to create memorable and outstanding work.

Aimee brings a breadth of writing and strategy experience to the One Design team. With a background in copywriting, her work also includes branding, user strategy, content strategy, UX writing, design thinking, and research. Put that all together and you get someone who enjoys discovering the big truths that lead to great brands and products, intuitive user experiences, and inspiring and effective campaigns and communications wherever they live.

Chris is a front-end developer devoted to building solutions that empower organizations. He looks to understand the inner mechanics of how systems are built and utilizes that knowledge to create future-proof results. While Chris focuses on user-centric design, he centers Content Managers in his approach for seamless adoption and expansion within these digital experiences.

As a strategist and design researcher, Alibaster looks to explore and uncover the questions around the human condition. He’s able to translate qualitative data into stories that reveal profound truths—ones that not only reckon with an organization’s current positioning, but directly influence its business opportunities. His dedication to intersectional thought paired with his commitment to accessibility and DEI challenges clients to think more expansively around every facet of their organization, creating a stronger foundation for continued growth.

Mike bridges the gap between design and development to expand how we engage with the digital world. He creates beautiful, immersive experiences that allow the end-user to feel like they’re a part of the magic. From conception to launch, he embeds himself within the creative process—bringing new and imaginative ideas that offer moments of delight for clients and their various audiences.

Michael is a detail-oriented designer, driven to produce comprehensive design systems that centralize the end-user experience. With a background in print and a deep love for typography, Michael strives to provide compelling solutions for dense and challenging projects. He’s an advocate for delving deep into understanding what a client needs to form dependable partnerships—and he acts as a resource to many team members, nurturing and elevating talent within the studio.

Kyle is a designer concerned with distilling the complex into simple, elegant, strategically-minded solutions. At One Design Company, he breaks down the barriers between form and function to ensure our client’s brands are as emotionally potent as they are logically grounded. “Keep it simple, stupid” is his mantra, as equally applicable to life as it is to his work.

Erick is a multifaceted artist with deep roots in the Chicago DIY art scene—a perpetually fresh perspective that influences all of his work. As an early adopter, he is always on the lookout for new ways to elevate and challenge his skillset. His infatuation with experimentation strengthens his techniques—infusing cutting-edge concepts with thoughtful finesse into his work for clients.

As a creative director disciplined in interaction design, Will is a self-described Figma fanatic, typophile, and general design systems enthusiast focused on creating harmony between brands, user experience, and code.

Brad brings more than twelve years experience working with people, technology and design to help businesses and organizations achieve and sustain success. As a project manager with One Design, he works hard to unite our internal teams and client teams and partners towards a common project vision and goal. He believes in building and fostering an environment where communication is open, perspectives are respected, and collaboration is paramount.

Robyn has been practicing design in Chicago since 2006, with her most recent projects focusing on brand, experience, and transformation design strategy. As an account director at One Design, she unites both her strategic approach to design and her passion for discovering new opportunities with her empathy for clients and their unique needs. She works to find solutions that the whole project team can be proud of, and she's constantly on the lookout for tools to genuinely and meaningfully improve the human experience for us all.

Ryan is an interdisciplinary designer who finds delight in the micro and macro details of brands’ expressions. His experience working with enterprise-scale clients has reinforced his perspective on the value of design. Meticulous, tactical, and humble, Ryan builds succinct, intrinsic, and thoughtful design systems.

Nick is a highly perceptive visual artist with a passion for taking complex problems and distilling them into simplistic solutions. His iterative approach allows him to expand upon a client's vision, providing a multitude of options that are always rooted in compassion and understanding for the intended audience. Through charismatic visuals and animation, Nick transforms his projects and brings them to life with great purpose and direction.

Where left brain and right brain come together and join forces, you'll find Kristen. A dedicated, process-driven project manager with a creative background, she has honed her organization and detail tracking skills through practical experience and an insatiable need to create plans and cross things off well-crafted lists. The ability to keep a bird's eye view of an in-flight project, while also keeping a close watch on the little details, allows her to help usher projects from start to finish while keeping client needs in mind and supporting collaboration across cross-discipline teams.

Becky’s background bridges the gap between brand, interactive, and service design—keeping user needs at the center at every step in the process. She brings a wide range of experience to the table, from large-scale installations to product design across a variety of industries. Her passion is in thinking long-term creating flexible design systems that scale as well as deliver short-term impact. She’s worked with large clients helping them to navigate the complex as well as partnered closely with local clients to tap into nuance.

Stacey Shintani started out as a jack of all trades in strategy, web design, and communications, but her unholy love of organization led her to specialize in project management. At One Design, she helps teams stay dually focused on clients’ goals and users’ needs while keeping logistics running smoothly behind the scenes. Her formal training in journalism and art theory let her pitch in across projects, and she loves seeing a resonant brand come to life.

As the studio’s Executive Creative Director, David leads teams focused on creating powerful experiences for our client portfolio at the intersection of research, design, communication, and technology. David teaches visual communication and graphic design history at DePaul University’s School of Design. In 2007, he co-founded the Post Family, an internationally recognized collaborative focused on the creation of experiences that engage communities through art and design. He served as Co-President of AIGA Chicago—the second largest chapter of the nation’s oldest professional association for design—between 2017 and 2020.

Matt has over a decade of working in creative agencies to draw from, delivering memorable, functional digital experiences that delight clients and their audiences alike. With an eye toward the future, he ensures that what he creates can grow with the client's needs while also striving for simplicity and dependability. Through close collaboration with the creative team and the client, the high level of care and precision he puts into his work is evident.

Michelle joined the team in 2016 as our studio manager with a background in education. As One Design's People Operations Manager, Michelle is responsible for managing the systems, programs, and processes that support the employee lifecycle. Her days as a studio manager give her an operational edge that helps bridge the gap between HR policy and day-to-day reality. A natural connector and advocate for employee well-being, she is known for her open-door policy and ability to balance empathy with business objectives.

Osa's team and project management expertise is complemented perfectly by her calm and thoughtful approach. Her project teams trust her, and her client partners know she'll deliver an amazing finished product. She is gifted in daily coordination as well as motivating and managing people. Osa is also highly creative and has an excellent eye for what works and what doesn't when it comes to production and content. In addition to being analytical, she always strives to do more and tries harder. This makes her unique and truly outstanding, as she looks to think expansively while paying attention to details.
